Miss Kitty made friends once

Once upon a time, Miss Kitty made friends with the two cats we had when she appeared hopping up and down our driveway like a bunny rabbit in 2012. Big Foot and Indee were our only cats at that time, and although it took her two years to not jump off the bed and run away whenever one or the other came around, one day she stayed.

She acted like she was sleeping, but I could tell that she knew Indee was there. Not only had he jumped up on the bed, he slowly and silently tip-toed over to Miss Kitty and started sniffing her out. She did not budge. Indee laid down and went to sleep next to Miss Kitty on my Colts blanket.

The two actually became friends. And then Indee got cancer. We were all super sad, including Miss Kitty.

We decided on Indee’s final day and on July 2, 2015, I stood by him, and Dave stood by me, while the vet administered the shot sending him to kitty heaven.

Miss Kitty needs a long branch

It takes a long branch for Miss Kitty when it comes to helping another, which I believe is mostly due to fear. She can appear to be mean with her “I’ll get you before you get me” attitude, although I know she is not really mean. She is just scared.

Miss Kitty is different and she knows it. Compared to the other cats around here, she has short legs and a short tail. I bet it does hinder her ability to win a cat fight, and therefore, she makes sure the other cats are afraid to get in a fight with her. She does a good job at it, too. Every cat here shrinks from Miss Kitty. They all seem to know and respect that she is the boss.

Miss Kitty is not nearly as scared as she was when she first came to us in 2012. It took her a while to even warm up to me, but once she did, she she stayed close. The foot of my bed has been Miss Kitty’s bed for many years now. Occasionally, she’ll curl up next to me.
